The last month of 2021 was still quite a blast within Triple E. We gave a major boost to the new assignment to PaperInnovator to develop packaging for the Brickz. And that is necessary because the FiberBrickz that we are going to use to remediate soils contaminated with asbestos must be able to be laid on the ground like tiles. The pilots we are running for this innovation within Fiber2Fiber will start in March, so there is great rush. Our new employee Diederik Visser is quite busy with it.
With NIOO-KNAW we are working within Fiber2Fiber on a third patent that focuses very specifically on the combination of fungi and bacteria that will break down the asbestos. The application for this was also sent out in December and that was also a blast.
We also purchased a second – larger – bio converter for our phytorefinery in December. This within the framework of the ABBA project, which focuses on the processing of residual flows from the cultivation of amaryllis into Brickz. This required considerable administrative and financial efforts.
In the meantime, we have also been able to receive some visitors from Greece with whom we discussed the possibility of linking the phytorefinery to the residual material from the production of olive oil and to make Brickz for the cultivation of olives. The visit actually led us to decide to work together in this area.
Also Jan-Willem Wolff from http://www.janwillemwolff.nl/ and Marieke Veltman from https://www.erac.nl/ came around to talk about the opportunities that lie at the interface of Beer, Brickz, Soil, Trees and Bavaria. As you understand, we have discussed everything thoroughly from A to z and will capitalize on the opportunities we have identified in 2022.
And to top it off, we have been in contact with greenhouse builders about the design of future phytorefineries. That was a bit confusing for the greenhouse builders, but in any case enlightening and inspiring for us. The latter because we now know even better what we want, even if it will be different from the standard greenhouse.
It is nice to see that our video channel is well visited. Especially the episode of Bladgroen about the land consolidation is doing very well. But we are also happy that we have also recorded English-language videos for our foreign relations, because that explains a lot to them we understand. Also see:

And since the work at the phytorefinery De Groeiplaats (Growing Place) also continues, we have worked hard with the new employee Daan Houwers – who manages the mycoretum – until the last day of the year to start the new year with a satisfied feeling. A year by the way that- we already know – is going to be another great year.
