Triple E

Last month we didn’t have a newsletter, because then we launched our completely renewed website. We have received a lot of positive reactions to that. For those who missed it, here’s the link again:

https://tripleee.nl/

It is also important that we now have a separate website/webshop for the Brickz:

Duurzame brickz | BrickZ® Earth

Our new website also shows which concepts and ideas we have developed over the years. Something we will continue to do bravely: for ourselves and our customers. Within Natural Soil Improvement, for example, we have been commissioned by BIOODI – a producer of paper disposables – to make a variant of our Tompost based on their waste. We then planted trees on them and they go back to BIOODI. This means that the paper disposables are converted into trees and that is therefore 100% circular. We will investigate whether we can deepen and structure this collaboration.

In Naaldwijk in the phytorefinery de Waterkant, we now have not only trees in the greenhouse, but also various ornamental and potted plants from Westland ornamental growers. These include chrysanthemums that we have placed on our Tompost – in different compositions – and for which we will therefore see whether the plants perform (at least) as well as on traditional substrates.

Meanwhile, our partners from the Sustainable Brewing Foundation have also visited us to see whether we can convert Heineken’s brewing sludge in our phytorefinery into a high-quality soil improver (Brickz, Tompost) as part of the Libertech project. To this end, we will be setting up a pilot installation in Naadwijk in the coming months.

The Knowledge Center for Nature and Economy will carry out an assignment commissioned by the National Parks Partnership to map out the health benefits of national parks. The current assignment for Stichting Innovatie Glastuinbouw Nederland (SIGN) regarding the cultivation of red list varieties has led to completely new insights and opportunities on the one hand and to new alliances between the participating parties on the other. See here the link to the newsletter of SIGN:

Finally, in this newsletter we would like to say something about intellectual property. Over the years, Triple E has devised and developed many innovative concepts and products: from landscape auctions to the FEBO method to the Brickz. Often commissioned and then the ideas naturally belong to the customer, but often also to ourselves. And with regard to the latter, we have often found that other parties ‘take over’ this unsolicited – and often with clever tricks.

For example – in our own words ‘entirely coincidentally’ – a month after we had put the Bosjebomen website on the market, exactly the same concept appeared under the same name at the WWF, the poster of the Veluwe route recently surfaced again without mentioning the source, a presentation about the Energy Landscape – which we apparently once accidentally left on a PC – was used with exactly the same slides, but with a different company logo, by an ‘expert’ that gibes workshops about the concept. And so we can go on and on. It is apparently the price you pay for good ideas.

Of course you can’t do anything about that without proper recording. All this has led us not only to patent our technological innovations, but also to intellectually protect words and concepts today. Words such as ‘phytorefinery’, ‘mycoretum’, ‘The Plant Plant’ and ‘Tompost’ have been captured, as has the Brickz logo. Such terms are therefore not freely available. Triple E has always been an idea factory and will continue to be for some time to come. But if you want great ideas, you can simply hire us. Of course, good ideas have a price, but in our case it is not too high. 😊
