The year begins with an assignment by SIGN (Stichting Innovatie Glastuinbouw) investigating the possibility of growing and marketing red list species and thus contributing to biodiversity conservation.
Tom Bade acted as ghostwriter for the book ‘Een plek onder de zon’ published by Glastuinbouw Nederland, which deals with sustainable housing for migrant workers.
A circular chain project aimed at the sustainable use of residual materials from the beer industry as soil improvers is also being started with a nice alliance in which, besides NSI, Bavaria, the Koninklijke Ginkelgroep and van den Berk Boomkwekerijen are participating. And a study is being conducted for the Delfland water board on the application of saline dredging as a substrate for growing trees.
But certainly also important is the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with business park IPKW and Veolia in Arnhem to start work here on the construction of a phyto-refinery next to Veolia’s treatment plant.
The Fiber2Fiber project concludes with a large congress in the Koepelkerk in Arnhem under the name ‘Afbraak is Afbraak’. The congress is a great success and Triple E decides to revive the tradition of the Green Christmas Lecture. The success of the congress will also have something to do with the fact that, purely for fun, Triple E has brewed its own beer for the participants, called ‘Nat Goud’ (how appropriate for beer). The beer’s slogan is ‘tasty to the core’ and that proved to be true.
